Network latency is only part of the total
Application response time includes radio transmission, scheduling, transport, Core processing, server processing and return traffic. Improving only one stage may have limited effect.
Edge application placement
Multi-access edge computing places applications or service components near users. Combined with a local UPF, this can reduce distance and avoid unnecessary transit.
Operational questions
Enterprises must consider where data is processed, who manages the platform, how workloads fail over and whether the application is genuinely designed for low latency.
