What the NSSF does
The NSSF provides network slice selection assistance. It can return allowed or suitable slice information and information used to identify an appropriate AMF set or candidate AMFs.
Selection context
Selection can depend on requested NSSAI, subscription information, serving location, roaming context and which slice instances are available.
A common misconception
The NSSF does not create the entire slice and does not control radio scheduling or user-plane forwarding. It supports one specific part of the wider lifecycle.
