Slice, session and QoS identifiers
The identifiers used to request slices, select data networks, distinguish QoS flows and identify subscriptions.
S-NSSAI
Single Network Slice Selection Assistance Information
A slice-selection identifier containing an SST and optional SD.
SST
Slice/Service Type
The broad slice or service category.
SD
Slice Differentiator
An optional value distinguishing slices with the same SST.
NSSAI
Network Slice Selection Assistance Information
A collection of one or more S-NSSAIs used in selection procedures.
DNN
Data Network Name
The external data network associated with a PDU session.
5QI
5G QoS Identifier
A reference to QoS characteristics applied to a QoS flow.
QFI
QoS Flow Identifier
Identifies a QoS flow within a PDU session.
SUPI
Subscription Permanent Identifier
The permanent subscriber identifier used within the 5G System.
Do not confuse identification with assurance. An S-NSSAI or 5QI labels a configured service or treatment. It does not independently guarantee coverage, capacity, latency or availability.
